Operation Weight Loss - May 2012

In the first week of May 2012, I was 87 kgs in weight and with no change in that I weigh the same 87 kgs today. I know this is really bad comparing the progress I had in the first two months - but I am also happy that there isn't any increase like the previous month :)

I hope at least in the coming days, I will start the physical activities again to showcase some success in the next month.

"Operation Weight Loss" - April 2012 update

By the end of March 2012, I was 85 kg and now after the first week of May of 2012, I am 87 kg. thanks to my recent US trip and laziness, I have gained 2 kgs :(

1. all food in US had meat and high calories. never made an attempt to do some physical activity to compensate for the high calories intake.

2. this should be a good lesson for the future.

"Operation Weight Loss" - March 2012

The quick update : by the end of February 2012 my weight was 89 kg and now I am 85 kg. So that is 4 kg for this month.

Happpyyyyy :)

Few random thoughts:
  • Somehow made the habit to walk 5-6 kms every morning.
  • Jogging / Running is not an easy task as of now. I get tired very soon doing these than walking.
  • I was climbing the 11 floors in the office by steps. Though I didn't experience any problems, few of my friends says I might get knee problem later if I continue doing this.
  • Couldn't resist to Non-Veg food items. The intake was more compared to the prvious month.
  • Failed again in the plan to workout in the office gym. Certainly this is not going to happen even this month.
  • Heard from a friend that Surya Namashkar and some other yogas are more efficient in buring more calories than walking. Need to find a good master, if possible.

My Weight Loss Tamasha - February 2012

During the end of January 2012, I went for a master health check-up at Appolo Hospitals in Chennai and the important advice was to reduce my body weight by 30 kgs in next one year.

Many times in the past, I did make few attempts to reduce my weight - but somehow that didn't last for a long time. But this time, since there were few other problems as well - I have decided to give my best to reduce the body weight.

Hence making an attempt to log my progress here :)

During that check-up my weight was 92 kgs.

Change in food :
  • Reduced the amount of rice intake. Earlier I used to (over) eat rice even for dinner. For the last one month normally I take rice only for lunch
  • Less friend items than before.
  • Non-veg food only once in a week. Earlier I used to take twice.
  • No pizzas, burgers this month :)

Physical activities :
  • in the morning I walked for about 1 hour (only in the last 10 days)
  • I take the steps for 11 floors once in the office (last one week)


and after one month, now my weight is about 89 kgs. Though the 3 kg loss is only a small number, I am really excited about it. Now I know, if I put in more efforts the result might be better.

Plans for next month : continue the physical activities without any break and if possible work-out more in the office gym.

Small steps to fight Obsesity

Four years back I was only 65+ kgs of weight, but today thanks to my life-style and laziness, I weigh nearly 85+ kgs.

Few innocent people call me Uncle

New neighbors identify me as the fat guy at home

Long met relatives mistake me to be the eldest in the family

Dear and Near ones always talking about this physical progress!!!!

Hmm... Life isn't easy when one have such rapid growth. At times such frequent comments really hurt in some corner of the heart, as it had happened today.

As usual with the same determination which will last only for one day, I started browsing the internet

Just happened to step in to one good website for people like me - www.smallstep.gov


The have listed nearly 100+ small steps to reduce body weight. Here's just a few of them :
  • Take the stairs instead of the escalator.
  • Get of the bus a stop early and walk.
  • Portion out your snack on a plate, not from the bag.
  • Park farther from your destination and walk.
  • Don't eat late at night.
  • Don't take seconds.
  • Try smaller sized items when snacking or eating out.
  • Bicycle to the store instead of driving.
In words, these tips seems to be very simple.
I need to check if they will work out for me, at least this time [:-)]
