Yamaha Introduces sports bikes in India...

Yamaha, though popular in the international market, had been struggling a lot recently to attract the Indian customers.

Now they want to re-establish their position by introducing two sports motorcycles (MT-01 and YZS-R1), in the indian market.

In look and performance (1000cc & 1600cc) the bikes look awesome, but cost??

These bikes would cost about Rs. 10.5L!!!!

Thats too much!!! On one side, few are trying to make low cost cars and on the other side few are selling such costly bikes.

Hmmm.. Strange world!!!!

Buddy,

There is a segment of people who can afford such costly bikes. i suppose these bikes will get a decent share in two wheeler market. after all, there are people in India ( particularly, in Mumbai ) who can spare up to Rs 50,000 ( Fifty Thousand ) per square feet for an apartment which excludes Rs 25,00,000 ( Twenty Five lacs ) car parking space.

Very true!!! Just did some random check in the Orkut communities for Yamaha MT-01. From my assumption there should be nearly 40+ owners of this bike in India.

cheers,
